Actor Tony Ganios, known for his roles in films like Porky’s, has passed away at 64 due to a heart attack, as confirmed by his fiancée Amanda.
According to TMZ, Ganios died in a New York hospital after being admitted for a severe spinal cord infection, which led to the heart attack during surgery.
Amanda shared on social media that their last exchange was expressing love for each other. Fans expressed shock and condolences, with one mentioning plans to meet Ganios soon. Amanda revealed that Ganios had been unwell but hid it until he was hospitalized.
She had posted a note on the social media app “X” sharing, ‘The last words we said to each other were “I love you.” Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios.’
A fan with the username @wrongstanceprod replied to the post, ‘Please god tell me this isn’t true. I was going to meet him in two weeks. Finally gonna meet him after all these years. Just awful news. My heart and prayers are with you Amanda.’
She wrote back: ‘Thank you, Marc. It’s just unreal to me right now. It was so fast. He hadn’t felt well and hid it from me for days.
‘When he finally told me, and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely infected. They did surgery, next morning, his heart stopped. I’m crushed.’
Interacting with another fan, Amanda penned: ‘It’s not real to me. I’m just empty.’
His sudden death came as a devastating blow, especially as they were actively planning their wedding just a week before.
