Prince Jackson is honoring his late father, Michael Jackson, on the 15th anniversary of the pop star’s death.
On Tuesday, the 27-year-old shared a photo on his Instagram Story from his father’s 1993 Super Bowl XXVII Halftime Show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, where he performed “Heal the World.” Accompanied by the 1985 charity single “We Are the World”, Prince wrote, “Miss you pops.”
Prince added, “The world felt better with you in it.”
Michael Jackson, known for hits like “Thriller,” died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50 after suffering cardiac arrest. His cardiologist, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 after a two-month trial found him negligent in Michael’s death due to an overdose of the anesthetic propofol. Murray was sentenced to four years in prison but was released in October 2013 after serving nearly two years.
Prince’s tribute follows his and his siblings’ rare public appearance at the Prince Edward Theatre in London nearly three months ago for a preview performance of “MJ: The Musical”, which focuses on the making of Michael’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour.
Debbie Rowe gave birth to Prince in 1997 and Paris in 1998. Bigi, born in 2002 via surrogate, joined the family later. Michael and Debbie were married from November 1996 to April 2000.
