Alex Rodriguez felt devastated when Jennifer Lopez left him for Ben Affleck.
Sources said, “Alex fell apart when J .Lo ran off with Ben. He felt like she tossed him out with the trash when she got a better offer from Ben and it did a huge number on him. He went from planning a wedding to watching her marry someone else in what felt like the blink of an eye. It was the worst year of his life, and to make things ten times worse, J. Lo didn’t have an ounce of empathy for him. She flaunted her romance with Ben every chance she got”.
Now, with news of Ben and Jen’s marriage troubles, A-Rod is said to be finding some satisfaction in their relationship’s downfall.
“To see [Jen] getting some karma for her actions is pretty sweet, even if [A-Rod] wouldn’t admit that publicly,”, reports In Touch. “His friends all know he’s been waiting for things with her and Ben to crash and burn.”
For Alex, seeing Jennifer and Ben’s relationship struggles brings a sense of vindication. Though he’s moved on with Jaclyn Cordeiro since October 2022 and is reportedly content in his new relationship, he still harbors resentment towards Jennifer.
According to an insider speaking to In Touch, Alex was deeply affected by Jennifer’s swift departure for Ben, feeling discarded and replaced. Their engagement, which began in 2019, abruptly ended in April 2021, and shortly after, Jennifer was seen spending time with Ben.
The reunion of Ben and Jen, affectionately dubbed “Bennifer,” had been long anticipated, given their previous engagement in the early 2000s. Despite their previous split in 2004, they rekindled their romance, culminating in a wedding in July 2022. However, reports from In Touch in May suggested that their marriage was headed for divorce, with Ben already moving out of their shared home.
Despite public appearances suggesting unity, with Ben and Jen attending events for their children, rumors persist about the state of their marriage. Notably, Ben was absent from Jen’s side at the Met Gala and the premiere of her movie Atlas in May.
