Sources exclusively tell In Touch that Jennifer Lopez is planning to leave Hollywood due to relationship issues with her husband, Ben Affleck. Friends speculate that she might consider reconnecting with her ex, Alex Rodriguez.
“Even before things went downhill with Ben, she was pushing for a full-time move to New York. Now, after the split, she’s decided to go ahead with it,” says an insider.
In Touch first reported last month that Ben Affleck, 51, and Jennifer Lopez, 54, are “headed for a divorce.”
Ben has moved out of their marital home, although neither has publicly addressed the split rumors. Ben has been seen without his wedding ring, while Jennifer was recently vacationing in Italy.
The source explains that Jennifer may move to the East Coast soon, but will probably keep a place in Los Angeles. She needs to escape the scrutiny and noise of the West Coast.
Earlier this month, she posted a video on her JLo Beauty Instagram account, saying she was “getting ready to head out” and “traveling to New York.” She ended the clip with, “See you in New York!”
Regarding her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, the insider notes that they would adapt to the move. “There’s nothing stopping her from taking the kids and making a fresh start in New York. There are plenty of schools there, and she has a strong social circle.”
The source also mentions that Jennifer was “in her element” when dating ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez and spending time in New York with him.
Although A-Rod, 48, has been dating Canadian fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro since October 2022, Jennifer reportedly misses what she had with him. “He’s got a girlfriend now, but Jennifer doesn’t intend to stay single for long, and she and A-Rod have unfinished business.”
Jennifer and A-Rod ended their engagement in April 2021, shortly before she rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck. Jennifer and Ben quickly moved into a relationship and married in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
Regarding A-Rod, the insider says, “Despite his faults, they had a strong connection. He was devastated when they split. He insists he’s happier now, but their mutual friends aren’t so sure. He’s not married or engaged, so a reconciliation isn’t out of the question.”
The source adds, “New York has a small social scene for celebrities, so they’re bound to run into each other.”
