Grammy-nominated singer Halsey has shared that she feels “lucky to be alive” after enduring severe health issues. The 29-year-old artist did not provide specific details about her conditions but hinted at diagnoses of lupus and leukemia in a recent Instagram post.

The post includes a series of photos and videos of Halsey in the hospital, where she described herself as feeling “like an old lady.” She wrote in the caption, “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive,” while also announcing her new album.

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, rose to fame with hits like “Closer” with The Chainsmokers and her platinum debut album “Badlands.” In the Instagram video, she expressed hope for the future, saying, “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. When I’m 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not going to be sick. I’m going to look super hot and have lots of energy and get to redo my 20s in my 30s.”

Halsey has previously been open about her health struggles, noting, “I’ve kind of been sick most of my adult life.” In 2022, she disclosed that her health declined during her pregnancy with her son, Ender, the year before. She has mentioned being treated for multiple conditions, including endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, Sjogren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome. In her latest post, she tagged the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, indicating treatment for lupus and leukemia.

One of the videos shared shows Halsey receiving treatment in a hospital. In her new song, she sings about “poison” in her blood and starting treatment.
