In December 2020, Elliot Page, known for his role in the Netflix series “Umbrella Academy,” revealed that he is transgender.

During a conversation with Oprah in May 2021, the actor discussed the positive impact of gender-affirming healthcare. Page expressed the feeling of seeing himself in the mirror after a shower and feeling a sense of recognition and affirmation.

2. Zaya Wade 

Zaya Wade, the oldest daughter of retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade, openly identified as transgender in 2019. She marked her 14th birthday in May 2021 with a rollerskating-themed celebration.

Dwyane Wade said, in an interview on: “She’s the strong one in this family. She’s a hero.”

3. Leyna Bloom 

In July 2021, Leyna Bloom made history by becoming the first transgender woman to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

In a celebratory Instagram post, Bloom wrote, “We deserve this moment; we have waited millions of years to show up as survivors and be seen as full humans filled with wonder.”

4. Laverne Cox 

Laverne Cox gained fame for portraying Sophia Burset on the popular Netflix series “Orange Is the New Black.”

In 2014, she broke barriers by becoming the first openly transgender individual to receive a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, and the following year, she made history again by winning a Daytime Emmy Award.

Cox also achieved a significant milestone as the first openly transgender person to grace the cover of Time magazine and has been recognized on the Time 100 list.

5. Indya Moore

Indya Moore is recognized as an actor and model, notably portraying Angel Evangelista in the FX series “Pose.”

In 2019, Time magazine honored Moore by including them on its prestigious list of the 100 most influential people globally. Moore, who identifies as transgender and non-binary, prefers the use of they/them and she/her pronouns.

Laura Jane Grace is renowned as a punk rock musician, notably recognized for establishing the band Against Me!.

8. Valentina Sampaio 

Valentina Sampaio, a Brazilian model and actress, has achieved several groundbreaking milestones throughout her career.

Notably, in 2019, she made history as Victoria’s Secret’s inaugural openly transgender model.

Additionally, in 2020, she shattered another barrier by becoming the first openly transgender model to grace the pages of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue.

Peppermint is the artistic alias adopted by Agnes Moore, a drag performer based in New York.

Viewers familiar with “RuPaul’s Drag Race” will remember Peppermint for her exceptional lip-syncing abilities, which led to her being dubbed the “Lip Sync Assassin.”

10. Catilyn Jenner

Caitlyn Jenner made her public debut on June 1, 2015, with the release of a photo by Annie Leibovitz on the cover of Vanity Fair’s July issue.

In 2021, the former Olympic champion and reality TV star revealed her candidacy as a Republican for the governorship of California.
